How To Get Out Of A Creative Rut
Digging yourself out of a creative rut can be a challenge - and we all know the frustration. That feeling of being at a loss for words, or motivation, or ultimately where to start can leave you feeling lost. Besides the defeat that can come with creative blocks, there are steps you can take to get your inspiration back in an organic way.
Here are some strategies to reignite that spark of inspiration you've lost:
  1. Take A Break - Turn your computer off, close your book, or put down your pen. Take a step back and remove yourself from the situation. If you occupy your brain on another task or keep busy - you might find yourself returning to your work with more ideas than before.
  2. Look To Others For Inspiration - Look into your favorite artists, prints, or websites to get your creative juices flowing. It doesn't have to be related to your line of work to inspire you; think outside the box!
  3. Clean Your Space - You might not be able to think clearly if you're surrounded by clutter. Take some time to get your room or office organized so you create a comfortable and calming atmosphere!
  4. Switch Things Up - It's going to be challenging if you're trying to think of new ideas in the same old space you've been working in. Switch things up, work in a different room in your house or place altogether; go to a coffee shop or library.
  5. Get A Second Opinion - There is nothing wrong with asking for help! Getting a second opinion on where even to start might give you an idea, or at least help you narrow down what you don't want to focus on!
