A Dream Come True
While some of you know, and others might not, baby Sawyer is expected very very soon!
Leading up to his due date I have been planning baby Sawyer's Nursery, or should I say nurseries!
I've gone ahead and planned two nurseries for Sawyer. Let me explain: I've planned one nursery for now, since our house is on the market, and planned his forever little nursery, awaiting in our dream house. Yes, I am currently running a business, selling my husband and I's house, and in the works of securing our dream home, all while soon to be taking care of a newborn! Is that crazy? Maybe!! But I wouldn't have it any other way.
When I found out I was having a boy, I immediately started planning his nursery. I choose wallpaper, furniture, artwork, etc! I quickly began ordering everything but then had to come to the decision to hold off, until we figured out our house situation. (Like I mentioned, we are kind of in the middle of a lot) I wanted to create a space that would seamlessly transform from a nursery, into his little boy's room. So, it's more on the sophisticated side which is what the mood board above is for.
I will be using some family antiques (crib, bedside tables, and dresser) and then also incorporating new furniture to create a balanced look. I'm sure you can also notice the safari details we've incorporated throughout, and they are my favorite elements! I am putting a full-size bed in his nursery for when he gets older that way we can remove the crib and the room and it will still be beautiful and functional. Timeless grey and brown tones keep the room practical and soothing. I am SO excited to see it come to life!
In the meantime, I set up a little nursery in one of our guest rooms. The room is a soft green and has florals... slightly feminine but it's a pretty and happy room for him to come home to! It has been a journey to say the least, and we are beyond happy to start this phase of life with him.
I thought I'd share all of this in hopes to inspire others or hear feedback on products other moms might recommend!
